What can we expect from you in the future!?
I just finished up the Kindred Curse Anthology, a collection of five vampire short stories for adults. This was sort of a 'guilty pleasure' writing experience for me. The vampires are now all out of my system!

I am currently finishing up The Akasha Series. 'Water' and 'Air' are now available as e-books, and 'Fire' will be released in October 2012. The final book of the series, 'Earth', is due out Spring 2013.
Although The Akasha Series has been fun, my thoughts are already on my next project. I am planning another eco-fantasy series, this time with mermaids and werewolves. I am in the research stages now, reading up on popular werewolf and mermaid books, and cutting out pictures for a large 'underwater' collage. The visual helps me write! A beta first chapter has been posted here.

ImogenRosePicAbout Imogen

Imogen Rose is the author of the bestselling YA series, the Portal Chronicles. She was born in a small town in Sweden and moved to London in her twenties. After obtaining a PhD in immunology from Imperial College, she moved with her family to New Jersey, where she’s been based for the past ten years.

For as long as she can remember, Imogen has dreamt stories. Stories that continued from night to night, from dream to dream. So, even as a child, going to bed was never an issue, just an anticipation of the story to come.

PORTAL, Imogen’s first novel, would have remained in her imagination, to be shared only with her daughter, Lauren, had her eight-year-old not insisted that she write it down. In the course of a month, Imogen typed while Lauren waited eagerly by the printer for the pages to appear, and a novel took shape.

The warm reception PORTAL received encouraged her to continue with the story and the Portal Chronicles. The Bonfire Chronicles is Imogen’s new YA paranormal series.

Imogen is a self-confessed Hermès addict who enjoys shopping, traveling, watching movies and playing with her dog, Tallulah.

No one said returning to her pack would be easy, especially after ten years without them, but seventeen year old Caia Ribeiro is unprepared for the realities of the transition. Raised in a world where kids aren’t scared by bedtime tales of the bogeyman but by the real life threat of enemy supernaturals who might come creeping into their community to kill them in their sleep, Caia is used to the darkness; she’s used to the mystery and the intrigue of the ancient underworld war she’s bound to by chance of birth. What she’s having trouble with are pack members treating her with wary suspicion, the Elders tucking secrets behind their backs out of her sightline, and her young Alpha, Lucien, distracting her, with a dangerous attraction, from her decision to uncover the truth.

But as the saying goes ‘the truth will out’ and when it does, Caia will only have so long to prepare herself before the war comes pounding on their door threatening to destroy the safe, secret lives of the wolves… and the girl they protect.

I work in the YA department (okay, I *am* the YA department) for a library system in rural Kentucky. The second book in the Timber Wolves trilogy, Time Mends, was released on January 1 of this year. I'm currently working on Fate Succumbs, the final book, and hope to have it out by the Fall. You can keep up with my progress at www.misstammywrites.blogspot.com.
( Is that not the cutest author pic you have ever seen!?! I LOVE it!)

Worlds divided them. Chance brought them together. Only love will save them.

EXILED RaShelle WorkmanAn alien princess exiled to Earth.
An arrogant boy.
One week to get back to her planet or she'll die.
And, her only chance for survival? She must help the boy find his soul mate.
Piece of cake!

Stubborn, sixteen-year-old Princess Venus of Kelari wants one thing, to become immortal, that is, until someone exiles her to Earth, kills her irrihunter and takes her family. Now she wants revenge.

First she’s got to get home. But before she can return to Kelari, the Gods have commanded her to help an arrogant boy named Michael find his soul mate. Only she doesn't know the first thing about love.

Rather quickly, her inexperience with human emotion is obscured by other matters--alien-controlled psychotic teens that are out to kill her, and a government group that is set on capturing and dissecting her.

Worst of all, Venus will suffer a painful death-by-poisoning, thanks to Earth’s atmosphere, if she remains on the planet longer than one week. Still, Venus is a Princess and she's got a plan. Surely, with her help, Michael will fall in love with a human.

But time is running out and Michael is falling for the wrong girl--her.

Ebook of the Week + Giveaway: Alice in Deadland

Ebook of the Week
"Ebook of the Week" is going to be a new feature here at Inklings Read!

Each week I will be featuring an ebook as well as a giveaway! Ebooks featured in these posts will always be well rated and reasonably priced! Sometimes, if we're lucky, the author will drop by to say "Hi" with a few words on their book as well. Now, lets get started and showcase Inklings Read’s first Ebook of the Week!

To kick off this feature we have Mainak Dhar, author of Alice in Deadland, here with us today to tell us a bit about himself and his Amazon.com bestseller.

Our featured book this week:

Alice in Deadland by Mainak Dhar

Alice in DeadlandCivilization as we know it ended more than fifteen years ago, leaving as it's legacy barren wastelands called the Deadland and a new terror for the humans who survived- hordes of undead Biters.

Fifteen year-old Alice has spent her entire life in the Deadland, her education consisting of how best to use guns and knives in the ongoing war for survival against the Biters. One day, Alice spots a Biter disappearing into a hole in the ground and follows it, in search of fabled underground Biter bases.

What Alice discovers there propels her into an action-packed adventure that changes her life and that of all humans in the Deadland forever. An adventure where she learns the terrible conspiracy behind the ruin of humanity, the truth behind the origin of the Biters, and the prophecy the mysterious Biter Queen believes Alice is destined to fulfill.

A prophecy based on the charred remains of the last book in the Deadland- a book called Alice in Wonderland.

Q & A With Mainak Dhar

Mainak DharQ: Please describe Alice in Deadland in 4 words for us!

A: Better undead than unfree.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself and any works you currently have in progress.

A: I am a cubicle dweller by day and writer by night. I've always loved writing and telling stories, and always had an overactive imagination, including going through all of 8th Grade with an imaginary friend who sat next to me in class. The best part of being a writer is that unlike so many other things in life, one need never outgrow that same child-like fascination with storytelling and that imagination that makes the mundane magical. I am currently working on the sequel to Alice in Deadland. It's the first time I'm writing a sequel to one of my novels, so it's fun and challenging at the same time. You can learn more about me and my writing at mainakdhar.com.
